Beveled glass

The treatment of glass edges by grinding and polishing.

Stained glass - A general description of both handmade and machine made colored glass.

Copper Foil glass -   Glass held together with copper foil and solder.   This technique is used on  intricate windows. Copper foil is wrapped around the glass edges and is soldered.

Dichroic glass - Dichroic glass is produced by coating the glass with a metallic oxide while in a vacuum chamber. The glass has a reflected color and a second color ("Di", meaning two) if  viewed from an angle.

Etched glass - Eroding the surface of glass either by means of acid or sandblasting.

Fused glass - The melting together of glass in a kiln.

Iridescent glass - Characterized as displaying a play of lustrous colors like those of the rainbow. It is produced by spraying a metallic salt/hydrochloric acid solution on the surface of the glass when still hot.

Leaded glass - Glass that is held together with lead cames. Where the lead cames meet is called a  "joint" which is soldered together.

Slumped glass - The controlled bending or downward sinking of glass while being heated.
